Anna’s Gluten-Free + Vegan Spinach Dip!

INCREDIBLE…Garlic Spinach Dip Recipe & Info

I had been craving something hearty over snowagedon here in Canada. I also had never ever experienced a spinach dip that didn’t make me feel ill due to the dairy or gluten or just not be able to ever really enjoy it. Also NOTE: I had never even found a gluten-free bread that is fitting for such a delicious food so it slipped my mind of capable and stayed in the line of a craving.

Little did I know, one lonely grocery trip brought me to Promises’ sourdough loaf. Dont quote me on the bread itself being vegan.

Disclaimer: Now, the dip 100% vegan but the loaf just says gf and df. Here is the exact one to use and if you’re strictly GF then trust me you will be in

love!

So upon finding this, IT WAS THE LAST ONE IN THE STORE! And my jaw almost dropped as I had never even seen a GF sourdough before. So of course I had to buy it and of course…what else do you do with sourdough?

You make a spinach dip bread bowl and you stop asking yourself questions.

I instantly went home and my mind spiraled with recipe ideas. I ended up just gathering all the ingredients in my head and threw this amazing recipe together…

Here is what you need:

1 Cup Vegan Mayonaise (I used Hellmans)

1 Cup Vegan Sour Cream (I preach about Tofutti’s)

1 Cup Spinach Cooked (Frozen works easiest! Thaw in microwave or on stove top according to package instructions, be sure to drain!)

1 tbsp Garlic Powder

2 tsp Parsley

2 tsp Onion Powder

1 Tsp Crushed Red Pepper

1 Tsp Oregano

1/2 tsp Roasted Garlic & Pepper (This is a Shaker by Clubhouse but you can just sub this out for more garlic or peppers)

Salt + Pepper to taste!

3 tbsp Vegan Cheese (Optional, I used go veggie mozza)

Now if you’re like me and you love to play around with spices or LOVE garlic, you can adjust the seasoning to your taste and what you enjoy! Have fun with it, but if you want a sure thing – test this one out! 🙂

Garlic Butter for Loaf Ingredients:

1 tsp Minced Garlic

2 tbsp Vegan Butter (melted)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Pinch of Salt

Instructions:

Dip:

  • Mix together your mayo and sour cream adding in spinach slowly
  • Once mixed stir in all the seasonings, tasting as you go!

Loaf:

  • Coat Loaf with Garlic Butter
  • Carve a circle inside the middle of loaf big enough for your dip (I used a tiny portion bowl to guide me)

*I also carved out little bread stick shapes in the sides of the loaf to make easier for grabbing slices off the sides and dipping!*

Garlic Butter:

  •  Throw all your butter ingredients together in a bowl with the melted butter
  • Stir
  • Coat the entire loaf with kitchen brush

 

After all this,

  • Scoop dip into your loaf
  • Sprinkle with vegan cheese (optional)
  • Toast in oven at 350F for 4-5 minutes (until cheese is melted or loaf is toasted)

Tip:

Save the loaf pieces you cut out of it and use them to dip in your spinach dip! YUM!!!

Put on platter and serve! You will wow guests with this! I have been addicted… I cant wait until my local store has more sourdough instock…. 🙂

I know it sounds like a lot but it totally isn’t. This took me less than 15 minutes. This is great for hosting guys night ora family gathering.
